Default Question for the experts...

I did a cam change and did a bonehead thing. After removing everything and then putting the new cams and camplate back in, I lost track of where I was at on the rear cylinder. I could no longer tell if I was on the compression stroke or power stroke.
So, I brought the rear cylinder to the top and lined up the cams, then rotated and brought the front up. I double checked that the lifters were on the heel of the cam lobes when the cylinders were at TDC on the compression stroke, so everything was installed correctly, except that I could have made the compression stroke the old power stroke and vice versa. I did start the bike and it runs good, no wierd sounds. I did notice it started sooner than usual, but I don't know if I'm just being paranoid.
So is it a big deal if I did do this, even though it seems to run good?????
I checked my diagnostics and there are no codes (not sure if it would show any, anyhow).

Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Doesn't have to be on compression stroke, as long as the cam is on the base circle when you do the pushrods.

When you put the bike in gear does it go in reverse?
Just kidding, the sprockets will only go on the shafts one way, if the dots lined up then your good to go.
