Default Stage I limitations

I bought my bike with a stage I and a screaming eagle ac. Previous owner said he had v&h short shots on it but were to loud for his condo complex so he took them off and sold them. Iv now got a thunderheader for it but I'm scared the tune won't have enough fuel and make the bike run hotter. I have future plans to pick up a power commander for it, I just want to make sure I'm safe if put the exhaust on now.

A temporary and cost effective cure for the lean condition is a set of XiEDs; you can run them until you get tuning hardware/software. If you are not going any further than Stage I, you really don't need anything more than something like the Dobeck TFI.

You didn't mention the model year of the bike. If it is not a late model with O2 sensors, the XiEDs won't work.

The 2n1 Thunder Header will actually make the bike run slightly richer due to the back pressure compared to the VH short shots. The dealer download is a "one size fits all". The download they provide would be the same no matter what pipes you have. You are good to go although it is a leaner mix then if you went with another product. Just be 100% sure the bike has a download.
