Ive been hearing more and more people saying that the TH's build quality is bad, and is getting worse.
What do you guys think?
Finally got the dough to buy one and find out it is been getting bad reviews. Everything from tips falling off to yellowing and rusting fast.
Is this the same for the ceramic coated ones??
BTW harley direct has them for $475 heat seilds extra.
I bought a THers and when I opened box Rust poured out the back, personally I think the pipe was in a flood zone around New Orleans or some ****. the box had the wrong part # on it too, but it fit on my 05 Dyna.
I heard one on another bike the other day, thought it sounded like ****. kinda glad i switched to a Fatcat.
I think just about everyone makes a better 2 to 1 compared to present day TH. with the exception of Rinehart. That pipes primarys are too bike for a 95 ci, I lost all low end with that pipe.
I know a lot of guys who run Thunderheaders. Most are on engines with headwork, big bores and cams. I only know one guy who had a rear mount break. One has been on since 2000, a couple more since '01. I personally think the discoloration on the muffler and the soot at that vent look bad, but they seem to work and have a cool sound. Now myself, I run a Fat Cat.

most of the cheap priced exhaust systems sold at the big vendors are factory seconds. they will probably deny it but i think these are the exhausts that people are having problems with, no matter what the brand. i have had no issues with mine, fit and finish is good and the install was very easy. its all one piece so there is nothing to fall off of it . before you run a new pipe clean off all the fingerprints with alcohol.
Sooo does this hold true to the black ones? Is there sertain break in period or time.
Im thinking of going with the ceramic coat with the chrome heat sheilds
