Default accelerator pump adjustment

where can i find out how to adjust my super e accelerator pump. i can see an adjustment screw above the pump rod on the left side of the acc. pump cam. seems like when i turn it out it increases the amount of fuel delivered. my plugs look perfect but when im doing 55 and it the gas it starts moving then if i let of the gas it will pick up speed. figured it needed more pump. any help on this. ive tried finding something online but could only find out the details for rebuilding it.

Turn screw all the way in yet not tight.Turn screw out a 1/4 turn at atime, rechecking throttle response, keep increasing till bike stumbles then go to previous setting.Road test to recheck settings.Best throttle response w/least pump travel equals best fuel economy.Road test usuing off idle tests and approx setting responses from each 500 rpm.Your intermediate and high speed jetting must be close for best results.Altering either jet may require readjusting accel settings.Your accel screw shouldve been closed off during jet checks.Good luck alittle patience is needed.

thanks, thats what i found out. i finally found the instructions on S&S web site. it says about 2 turns is a good place to start. before that i found a site that said bottom it out and then turn 1/4 turn at a time. so i thought that being at 2&1/2 turns was way out there. i remember at the laughlin run my brother in law said i would puff black smoke once in a while. meaning it was set to rich. so ill just turn it in until it stumbles and falls then turn it out untill it feels good.
