I doubt you will find a PC-III cheaper anywhere else, not to mention Fuelmoto doubles the factory warranty. Just call them on their 800 number. They will talk to you for about as long as you want to.
I paid right at $420.00, including shipping, \\;\\\\\\;for the Ness Big Sucker and pre-programed PC3. I've been running Rinehart headers and Rush 1.75's with the stock air cleaner. No sneezing or popping and she seems to run OK. I'm anxious to get the A/C and PC3 on her. Should arrive tomorrow!! \\; Yes, I told them what was on the bike and the PC3 will be programmed for that set-up. It's plug and ride.
It might not be quite as plug and ride as you hope for. I did the same thing only with stock pipes wearing Rush 2-inch slipons. The supplied map was fat after my AFVs were set by the ECU to best-as-possible accommodate the mufflers. Would only pull to 90 in 5th. Reset AFVs and everything worked well then.
If you wanted to stay all-stock, I would say maybe the regular IEDs. Maybe. The XIEDs push too hard on the envelope of what our O2 sensors can reliably do. Even if I had not already done the mufflers, intake, fueler thing, I would not even try the X-models. Our O2 sensors were not designed to operate in that range.
Our current EFI is too smart for its own good. In the few areas it can check itself with the O2 sensors, it uses the results to control fuel everywhere. When you open the throttle past cruising range it will modify the fuel as it did while using the sensors. When stock it does not need the extra fuel the IEDS will cause when you open the throttle, but it will be provided anyway.
If you change the breathing apparatus and do not specifically tell the EFI you have done so, you really, really should at least use a truly-capable piggyback controller. The best of them is the PC-III. Better yet is a SERT or newer.
Stay all stock and maybe go with the regular IEDs or spend the proper money to improve the function of your engine. Black or white in my book.
Spend the money now. You will not regret it. Trust me. Do not just ignorantly roll the dice chasing quick fixes.
Well, my Ness Big Sucker arrived yesterday and I got it installed. \\;\\\\\\; Fuel Moto was out of the A/C so they had it dropped shipped to me in two days. \\;\\\\\\; Problem is I was expecting the PC3 yesterday or today and it didn't arrive. Guess I won't ride this weekend as I don't want to run her leaned out. Hope the PC3 gets here Monday!! BTW Glens, How do I reset the AFV's?
After reading many forums and listening to sound clips on line and everyone saying how great they Sound. I must be deaf because I purchased the Rush 14203 - 200 (2" Baffles) they suck. Not Loud at all. If you go to Rush Web site they have Video / Sound Clips of each Baffle size. The Clips sound Good compared to the real Deal. Just Wasted $250.00. Don't recommend Rush or Khrome Werks.
