say you have a 2011 103 motor,2 into 1 exhaust,se style air filter,no head work and need a cam for low end torque and power from 1500 to 5000 or so.how much real difference is there between all the 255,204, 37, 5-6,6 and what ever number cam is there as far as performance?if they have 235 to 240 duration @53,about the same timing events, how can 1 or 2 brands seem to be so much better than the rest?is there any one cam that is say 8 to 10 hp or so better than the rest and like wise with torque?
Call and talk to dave mackie @ davemackieengineering.com or tr reiser @ tmanperformance.com , they have forgotten more than most people know about cams!
Check out Cycle Rama's 575 cam for bringing maximum torque down to the useable range of 2500 to 4000 rpm. It gets high ratings throughout this forum. Google Cycle Rama and speak with Wes.

I responded to this on another message board.
First off, the 255 is a turd. Period. Take that off you list.
You not going to have a cam that pulls hard from 1500 to 5000, with a plug/play model.
Any of the others will work, if set-up correctly, ie, not plug/play, and there will not be a seperation of 8-10 hp between any of them.
One cam/combo that comes to my mind that could work at the compression the 103"er is running at, is an Andrews 26, and you could use the S/E 1.725 rocker arms with it.
