Default Timer cover

First let me say hello and thanx for information that I have read.

My question is wether there is a trick to getting the screws out of the timer cover. I just seem to be twisting the T-15 torx bit.

Thanx

Not sure of the correct size bit, but Harley puts some loc-tite on at the factory that is damn hard on screw removal. Sometimes you have to heat the screws to get them out or use an impact wrench or both.

If you are twisting the torx, they are way over tight. They are only supposed to be 7 foot pounds.

The loctite breaks down at 285 degrees. If you have to go to this extreme you don't want to apply flame right on your cover, so what I do is put the torx into the screw head, and then with a propane torch apply heat to the torx. When you get them out, replace them, since the threads are probably stretched.

Good Luck
