Im in the process of getting parts for my 99 wg... Im just gonna freshen up the top end but not with a big bore kit,How much compression do I need to shoot for??? Ive been on the Bigboyz site and played around with cams but I dont know which direction I need to go as far as cams go or what pistons to use!! By the way the bike has 42k on it,runs good doesnt smoke...do I need to go for the bottom end too bearings etc... thanks in advance for any input
Once you pick your cam ( or stay with stock ) use the calculator to shoot between 9.2 and 9.5 corrected compression. You should tighten up the squish with a .030 head gasket. The rest is up to you...cheers

I was looking at the hq0034 & 0039 and the woods 6 & 7 chain drive cams, but Im open to any recommendations as far as cams and pistons both!!!!! I do want a cam that pulls hard through the rpm range,I ride fairly aggressive alot of it is 2up..and definatly want a cam that sounds really nasty if thats possible with my kind of build
ok Ive pretty much made my decision about the combo(95 BB kit).... I talked to Bob at wood cams,he quoted me a price of $970 bucks for a conversion kit w/cams,he said this will make it the same as like a 2011,not hydraulic though!!! and I still need to buy pushrods sounds a little pricey to me for a cam change but he said with a 99 bike I need to make the conversion!!! anybody have any input on this or how much a cam change should cost on a 99 bike
We are Bob Wood's largest account and use his cam almost exclusively here, but being budget-oriented, an Andrews 37 cam set at 9.8-10.0
with a 98"(your clys bored) would get you down the road for sure.
That, with our Stage II heads, was just tuned last week by Doc, and spooled off 106/111, SAE.
