My CP 107 pistons showed up in the mail today. Just wondering what you guys recommend for clearance. The spec sheet dosn't have a range..just says .002...seems a little tight for a forged piston..any Ideas???
with CPs in automotive applications i go 3.5 thou.
it really boils down to the alloy the parts are made of.
ive seen old school guys set up cars today using CP stuff, and they go 6.5 thou. like in the old days with old TRW and speed pro stuff, and the motors knock like crazy and the rings never seal.
Call CP directly if you have questions. but i think they are meant to be tight.
the last set i had done, my indy made it a point to tell me that the tolerances were tight and to be mindful of this during break-in.
