I am writing about a 03 Tsport with a bad vibration. This was never one of the smoothest Dynas and on one long easy ride it went to awful, eye blurring, fender breaking vibration. I replaced all 3 engine mounts , did the vehicle alignment per shop manual, checked all in the primary, tightened or checked all relevent bolts, trans, header, etc. Nothing helped. The engine runs good, starts easy, idles good, and makes about the same power, there are no noises.
I'm at the point were I'm thinking it's a crank or flywheel problem and just wondering if anyone has seen this on TC88's or has any ideas? And no, it has never been on a dyno.
Sounds like you have covered a lot of problem area's, does the bike still have the same vibration if you pull in the clutch and coast at speed? Just wondering if it might be something besides the motor. That's pretty major vibrations you're describing.
Thanks for the reply John. Was really tired when I wrote that and should have included that it does it on the kickstand so we can rule out tires, tire balance, steering head, etc.
It starts about 1800 rpm and is at it's worse about 2400 rpm, with it tapering off some around 3200 rpm, but still far from what I would call acceptable. I know vibrations having owned a BSA, and then a Triumpth long ago and this H/D makes the Brits seem kind of smooth.
It's under H/D extended and goes in tomorrow. I've already missed a month of the season waiting for parts and trying to eliminate anything other then the crank and flywheels and fully expect to miss that much more again while I dodge H/D's baloney and wait for parts or H/D to try to find a reason why they shouldn't cover it.
