I bought it about 9 yrs. ago specifically for a 96 model. It has 3 adjustable pots for idle, mid-range and high. There's a couple other tuners out there, but they're very basic. If you go to a 97 model ecm it creates other problems. The harness I'm told is different than the 96.

+ 1 on what Dalton said. Last June, I had a SE intake(chrome backing plate) installed with an open Zippers Maxflow deep filter installed, with the skull No 1 cover. As soon as I picked up the bike I heard what I thought was a tapping sound as well. My Indy assured me that it was the throttle plate. Only happens at low rpm. Mainly because of every thing being exposed and no huge football cover to absorb the sound. Hope this helps....

Have had the same issues with my FLHX...If you pull the AC...you can put your finger on the butterfly and it will stop...it just a matter of the cam specs making the butterfly vibrate...Once you open the throttle a bit it goes away I bet
