N-GIN,
It has been posted that Rev-perf does not use new oversized pins when doing their cranks(don't know if this is true). If you disrupt the press fit in any way the crank is not as durable as it needs to be and welding alone isn't enough either. Others use an oversized pin to help insure crank integrity. It's your money and your ride, just be aware. This is the heart of your ride make sure what you get.

I thank you for all your help it is much appreciated, but that comment was not nessesary
N-gin,
You are definitely entitled to your opinion but I disagree that Scott is here for advertising. Scott is on the forum because he is passionate about building Harley engines. His precise work, knowledge, and availability, not to mention he is usually the one doing the machine work are worth a premium and the customer satisfaction is his advertising. That being said I still found his price completely in line with any other trusted builder. My Hillside 107 went together with ease and runs superbly.

Actually, Scott helps more folks on this forum than all other shops on here. You are the one off-base here bud. Hillside and the other shops help folks on here for the exact same reason. In hopes readers will learn as many have that they know their stuff and will use them when time comes for engine work. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that. RevPerf doesn't spend their time helping and answering questions here. So yeah, I think Scott's comment is warranted. Your best option was to have ignored it and said to yourself, "he's right, but I had a good reason not to" and go on.

I know Scott can speak for himself...but may choose not to because he runs a professional business and may not want to stoop to the level needed to respond like he would like.

But here's a fact, chances are you'll not be receiving anymore "professional" help on your build.

Think I'll throw my .02 in here as well....if that's o.k. ? I'm from Ontario, Canada; about 300 miles plus from Hillsides's shop, and I have had the good fortune of speaking to Scott on the phone on more than one occasion. He always returns emails and is one of the most knowledgeable and helpful people on this forum. If it wasn't for the God damn border, I'd be at his shop as soon as the snow melts getting a 107" done, the right way. Just my .02...

Good move N-gin. You are more of a stand-up guy than I gave you credit for.

Pull those SE studs out, and re-install your stock ones. There have been more than a few posts saying that stockers are better.
