What do you want out of the motor???????

Stump Puller, Hot Rod or all around rideability????

Do you want to get your heads ported out?

Once you determine what yopu want the motor to do, then you can narrow down your build, as different components create different results.....

95", Stage II, but scrap the 203's.... Go with 204's (Torque will be from wider in the mid range), or TW 37G's (I like these on a budget build).....

SERT or PC, as $$$$ dictates or as needed......

Send out your heads to get done, no need in big $$$$$ on a set of SE Heads, when you can get the stockers cleaned up for a little less and get more results....

Just be particular on who does them, and their reputation...

If $$$ is not a major concern, look at Revolution Performances 98" bolt on kit......

Seroiusly nice, and their jugs are flawless and warrented for life....

Yes, it is a bit more to pay, but well worth it if you plan on keeping the bike for a while....

Static compression is part of the equasion. What's more important is effective cylinder pressures. That's a function mostly of static compression, cam timing, and air pressure, with a few other little items thrown in for good measure. Stock at sea level is about 169. You don't want it to be more than 200 on a street bike, and probably should be closer to 190.

As an example. I used 204 cams and 10.25 static compression. That would normally equate to fairly high cylinder pressures. But I live at 6,400' ASL, and usually ride to 10,000'+ ASL. That keeps my pressures down very close to stock. I generally run the "cheap" gas without any problems.

RB Racing has a good calculater for this.
