Default Cam break in?

Is there a recomended break-in procedure for new cam and bearings? I did not see anything inlcuded with the cams.

I remember when I rebuilt my 351C engine the new cam came with a break-in procedure, but not with the Andrews cams....well unless I threw it out.

Would like to break-in if required before bringing it to a tuner.

It doesn't require a break in. Just put ample amount of cam lube on the lobes and you'll be fine.

If your 351C had flat tappets you had to go through a special break in. And as you know that was because the cam and lifters had to mate up.

Roll the engine with the rear tire around a few times to make sure things go around OK.

HD use roller bearings with the cams and roller lifters and just need good old 20-50 oil. There is no breakin at the cam plate bearings, we all hope.

After a few miles I would change the oil or at least the filter before getting on it.

The Gunny said it well.
One thing I will make mention of is that with automotive flat-tappet applications, you do want an oil with a high zinc content.
cen-pe-co is one that do that, and more.

The wrench who did my andrews gear conversion said, "don't hammer it for the first hundred miles or so, but then you'll be good to go"
