Are the jugs and heads different or is the diff.in balance and rubbermount.Looking at bb kit that he said was going into an tc88b i have an tc88a thx.
No difference between the cylinders and heads between the models. The top ends are identical.
Technically, there is no "A" motor. There is a Twin Cam and a Balanced Twin Cam, or "B" model. The main difference is the "B" or softail motors have 2 balance weights that are driven by the crank.
FWIW, we have witnessed the "B" engine be a top producer on the dyno's, in spite of folks saying you have to remove the balancer assembly(we do not) on high output engines.

Because a Niece of mine came along selling magazines for the 3rd grade and Cycle World was only $12 for a year I figured --what the hell?
Guess what?
I found out there are some engines from BMW and Kawasaki and others making --Stock-- at least 165-180 Hp and they have Countershaft Balancers, and Rev to 9-11K RPM.
AND go thru the quarter in about 9.5 sec and 150 MPH.
I'm just saying now and really talking good about Counter Balancers.
I wonder what their tire mileage is?
