hey there
i have an 03 roadking that i have been trying to get right forever,
finally broke down and had a harley mechanis change my cams, not sure which but mild for 2 up riding, also he replaced the oil pump and the new screaming eagle hydraulic cam plate
here is my question, the top end of the motor sounds like a sewing machine , it loud like somethhings loose, but it runs absolutely great ,better than ever, the only other thing i can note at this time is it does have alot of popping on decel
i had some valve train ticking before but not this bad
can it be tuning, i know he does not have a dyno, should i have it dyno'd ,can that affect valve train noise
also shound mention i have a power commander and am sure he downloaded a map
guys if i can quiet this thing down i will finallly be happy with this bike
thanks for any input

Reason: forgot info
From what you've said, it sounds like you need to take the bike back to the fella that did the work. Have him check the adjustment on the pushrods and upload a different map into the PC based on your cam, intake and exhaust.
Yeah check the lash, the popping on decel is normal and you can use a remap to eliminate it if you like-I have a LOT of customers riding them both ways w no probs though.
