I'm starting my 95" stage 2 build on my '06 eg classic. My riding is between 1800-2300 rpms on the street and I ride at 65-75mph on the highway. I would like to know the differance between the 203 & 204 cams. I would like all my power in before 5500 rpms. Also, whats the max comp allowed for those cams? I'll be using my stock heads.
I'm using the 204 cams on a 95". Great cam. Plenty of power down low. And accelerates from 80-95 in a heartbet. IMO, the 203 cam is just way too mild.
The 204 cam has almost the same valve closing point as stock. That means you want to keep the compression about the same a stock cam. If your static compression is 9.5:1, your effective cylinder pressures will be around 184. Stock is 169, and you don't want to go over 195'ish. I used 10.25:1, but I live at 6,500' ASL.
