Air Filter- most flow?
I like the classic look of the cover on my 09' Ultra, but am thinking that since installing the PC-V and Wild Pig slip on's the drop in K&N OEM is insufficient. I'd like to keep the stock cover if possible....
Has anyone modified the back plate to allow a K&N type filter to "inhale" better with the stock cover????
Thanks! YP
Some that come to mind are;
~Hillside Cycle's Green Filter (http://www.hillsidecycle.com/), check under new products

~Doherty Products Power PACC (http://dohertymachine.com/index.php?...c5ffe69d9abd4a), Not sure this one will fit under the stock air filter cover.
You mention the K&N being 'far from insufficient' but here's the thing....after the PC-V installation.....when I had the slip on's put on (did that at two different times), I was a bit disappointed with the A$$omometer reading. I then realized I hadn't cleaned the K&N since installing it late last year (pretty short riding season here). I cleaned it and noticed a difference in throttle response and "grunt".
That got me thinking that if I increased the intake more, it would/could make more of a difference.
Also, my understanding is that on the 09' 96ci there is no cat converters in the headpipes...so unless I'm gonna go true dual OR 2-1, not sure what else we can affect without doing cams, etc., which I'm probably not going to get into with this bike. (But maybe with the little street "*****" I'm gonna be buying to beat around on the street soon...?!)
