Where in the world can I get my entire engine show polished. I want my 2006 fatboy to shine. I know the engine will have to be torn down but who will polish or chrome the heads, cylinders, tranny and primarys. Lots of chroming places but none mention these parts. Please help I am in so cal.
I have always been told that chroming the head and cylinders would not allow the heat to disapate very well, I don't know that for a fact maybe someone else does. We have a good chomer in Nashville, the same one that did the Statue of Liberty for OCC. If it can be done to the heads and cylinders they could do it, they also can polish the aluminum. You can contact them at:
You could have the head and cylinders diamond cut, this looks good and is suppose to aid in cooling and have the rest chromed, most polished show aluminum is hard to keep looking good especially on a daily rider.
John brings some good points up about chroming and polishing both, there's a site where you can get all the info in the forums and purchase the needed accessoried to do it yourself if you're interested here http://www.caswellplating.com/buffs/index.html
It is a lot of work either way, would look great, but be a lot of upkeep too.
I thought I might add one other option, a lot of people are having the head and cylinders powder coated with a color that matches or compliments the sheetmetal paint scheme. When this is done in conjunction with the diamond cuts it really looks good or at least I think it does.
