Default Plugging a hole

Anyone ever plug the pipe going to the LH side on their bagger?

Makes it a 2-1.

This is a simple mod, cut the y piece off and make a patch from it, then weld it over the hole. No more exhaust pipe or support bracket to crack.

What did that do, if anything, to your performance?
And did you have to rejet, or remap?

Your mod looks good BTW

What kind of steel are the pipes constructed of? (for welding purposes)

Performance.
I can't answer that because I pulled the engine with 8KLM and changed most of the internals. The end result is a much improved ride.

Rejet.
New carb to suite engine upgrade.

Exhaust pipe material.
Nothing special to weld,it looks like a mild steel tubing. I welded mine with a TIG.

The only reason I cut the exhaust was for reliability out on the road as the bike is used for touring. I've seen to many of these systems fail due to cracking at the Y piece.

When you do that you lose the deep rumble. It doesn't enhance performance.
