need a little help out there... I have a 07 DYNA. Running SE110 heads with Dave Mackie 757 cam. With this combo I only had 160 PSI cranking pressure. Compression was way too low. Milled the heads .050. Now compression way too high. I have not yet checked the cranking pressure as my gage broke. I am thinking of going back to stock heads (ported and big valves) with the J&E 10:1 pistons. The problem I had with the SE110 heads milled was detonation.. no matter what kind of tune still have detonation, unless the timing is backed way off, then the power goes too. I guess the big is for someone out there that has ran the combo (stock, ported heads with DM 575 cam and J&E piston) trying to save my self more pulled out hair.. If someone out there has ran this kit, can you recomend head gasket size also? I assume .030 head gasket? Thanks in advance for any help or recomendations.
You really just cannot slice "X" amount from a cylinder, without first cc'ing the combustion chamber.
You then, creep up to it, via cut, measure, cut, measure.
All is not lost though, as a few cc's can be added to the chamber volume, and/or the piston dome volume can be reduced, to get that detonation under control.
Let us know if we can help.
