Default Running Hotter

What would cause a difference in temperature on two similar engines? Meaning let's say you and your friend both have the same bike and you go out for a ride following each other and one bike registers 180 degrees while the other registers 200 degrees. What could cause that one engine to run that much hotter? Any suggestions would be great.

Windshields, synthetic oil vs dino, ignition timing, regular fuel vs high test, weight of the rider, extra options on one bike, too much breakfast , tire pressures,or a combination of all the above

I liked the too much breakfast! in fact Mac's response could cause a "heated discussion"

All of the above and maybe one rider tends to lug the engine a bit over the other rider. That will certainly bring the temps up.

How do windshields and tire pressures affect engine temperature?

Low tire pressure is going to have more drag than properly inflated tires...windshields do the same...therefore the engine be workin' harder!

Ok I think I may have found a contributing factor. If the enricher does not close all the way, then would that make the engine run hotter? The engine is running 20-30 degrees hotter, which is a huge temp difference IMO. I have noticed that the enricher will vibrate out while riding. It also pulls itself in sometimes when you pull it out. Would this account for the temp difference and is there a way to adjust the enricher ****?

I do believe that it would run a tad cooler with the enricher out being you are adding extra fuel. You can tighten up the action by snugging down the nut behind the ****, VERY LITTLE!
