120r cam question
That said since its open what cams would you throw in it. I want the torque shifted to the left. After this fix i still want it to be reliable.
I have not run a 120R but have been diligently following threads posted on this an other forums that discuss the pros and cons of basic mods to the crate motor to upgrade from the OEM configuration. Most of those mods relate to headwork and cams.
From what I read, the OEM 266 cams make 100 TQ at 2500 in the stock configuration and does it in a very cool running package. Unless you need more TQ that early and the engine is happy, why not stick with the OEM cams and add a little compression?. That will move the TQ to the left and maintain a pretty good combination of parts that work together well and run cool.

Either bring the compression up to support the 266 better, or take a look at an S&S .625.
If you had it cc'd, and was no more than 10.7 cr, take a peek at a .585.
