Loud Tapping on cold start

2012 FXDWG bleeding lifter on cold start
I've got the exact thing happening on my 2012 FXDWG 103 also. The "tapping/ticking" lasts for a good 5 minutes. Just wondering how your (JTSmoke) situation is working out? I took mine in for a dealer "courtesy" check at 500 miles and the tech said that it was one of my lifters "bleeding". Told me nothing to worry about. Not sure about that. I'm working on getting to 1k miles so they can do the initial 1k service and do (any?) "adjustments" to fix this. Aside from the "cold start tapping", mine also has a "ticking" sound once it has warmed up. I can hear it while I'm riding, pretty much through all the gears and speeds. Not sure what to call this - "valve train" noise? Is this normal? The bike is pretty much stock. Waiting till after break-in to put on some new slip-on's...

Awwww @#$#! is all I could think about, hearing that HD went to lifters made in Mexico...
WTF. I had Feuling lifters installed with my new TW222 cams. I did not notice issues with my stock lifters.
I hope the OP gets his issue resolved. Hopefully it isn't a case of " they all do that."

I assume it's under warranty, so what does your dealer say?
