I have a 09 UC I had triked out, it came with a 96 cubic inch. I had it up graded to a 103 with 255 cams, SE air intake, HD race tuner and Rinehardt slip ons. I would like to quiet it down some. So my question is If I put the stock slip ons back on will I have to have it remapped. What if I just put the stock mufflers back on and ride it, What is the worst case senario that might happen.
You have the tuner already, so if you change mufflers getting your bike adjusted, if it needs it, should be easy. Stock mufflers are likely to make your bike run rich IMHO, which could hurt fuel consumption. Do Rinehart make quiet baffles for your slip-ons? Worth looking into.
An alternative is to consider S&S oval mufflers, which can be had close to stock sound, but still give improved performance. A few of the muffler makers are starting to take the sting out of some of their products these days!
Do you wear ear plugs? Not being a smart ***; they make a huge difference. RHs, compared to others, are not that noisy. Big City Thunder makes a variety of baffles for aftermarket exhaust systems; might give them a call.
As for re-mapping with the OEM slipons, install them and see how the bike runs, check mileage. Worst thing that can happen is you may experience some coughing, backfiring, hard starting and mileage taking hit; or maybe not. If not ride it; it you do get some of the above, which are indicators that tuning needs to be tweaked, get her tuned.
