just had carb cleaned out S&S T-111 motor w/super E carb; ran good for a couple of days twice low idle; I get home gas is pouring out the over-flow tube.
Is this a sgin of a stuck and still dirty bowl?
I went to shut off the petcock gas is still flowing out.
I removed the pingle petcock the shut off is not working -- ordered a new pingel petcock.
What else do I need to do?
Also would a super G carb increase performance?
previous problem: have a S&S t-111 with Super E carb on my 06 SG--the motor is little more than a year old. recently it has developed a problem with idling after an extended period on the highway--it runs fine except when I get off the highway after a WOT run (or close to it) it will idle erratically and cut off -- then after I restart I may have to keep the rpms up for a while and the gas light will come on -- after 5 - 7 minutes everything is fine again.
Lyn, I think this has already been covered elsewhere? Your carb is leaking because the float valve is not working. A new Pingel will stop it leaking while the bike is parked with the gas turned off, but won't help while you are trying to ride. If you are not comfortable or successful in sorting out your carb, get your local S&S indy to do it for you.
As for a bigger carb, your stock S&S motor is a complete package. Changing the carb for a G will only be worthwhile if you make other changes to increase performance. The same indy may be able to advise on that subject!
