Can the oil jets be replaced without splitting the cases?

Do you have pictures of sides of the pistons? If the running fit was not checked the piston could be pushed to one side of the cylinder seen it many times. This is why checking the running fit is SO important.
46u are you still reading this thread?
Yep you were absolutely right; the rod bushing was not reamed out straight. Got it tore apart, and man oh man what a mess that has caused, the rear cylinder looks like it has ripples up and down the side by the push rod tubes.
You can see where the piston has rattled as it went up and down because it was in a bind.
I checked it as close as I can with just sliding the rod back and forth and you can see that it is higher on one side than the other from the deck of the case.
The rings on the rear cylinder are worn to about 3/8 of an inch.
The front cylinder looks like the piston is riding better but it has a broken top ring, and the second ring is wore about the same, 3/8 inch.
I am surprised it ran as good as it did. Looks like my valve seals are shot also, I can see it is leaking oil, as it sits.
I got the jets out, man what a pain, they are not designed to be taken out without pulling the motor apart.
The rear was not clogged; the front seemed to be clogged a little bit but was not real bad, but it is hard to tell just by blowing on it, first it seemed clogged, then ok, not sure if I cleared it out by blowing on it.
I have new ones to put on.
I am not sure what caused the broken ring, maybe from the extra work that it had to do to make up for the back cylinder.
That and you can tell it has been hot.
I am in the process of getting everything ready and looking for someone who does machine work on Harleys to reinstall the rod bushings and bore them out, here locally.
Never ask but will a Harley dealership work on bikes tore down like this?
Man I hate being without my bike for a week or two.
Much thanks, I would have never know what had caused such a problem without your advice.

On the occassions I have replace them, I constructed a duct tape "net" under the oiler that would catch a dropped screw or oiler and made the swap very carefully and very slowly.
I was wondering how you get to the bottom screw on the oil jetomine seems to be hidden behind the flywheel it's a 2005 sportster 883
