Bike won't start

Got a 73 sportster. Just rebuilt the engine. Has spark, but even when I inject it with starting fluid I can't get a rumble, back fire or nothing. Any ideas?

Way too many possibilities. First question is...How skilled are you at engine building? Not a slam just a question.

I've rebuilt several jap engines, but first time for harley. All timing marks on cams are correct, oil pump timing marks are correct. Valves are adjusted properly. Points are set at .018. Compression test is 115 front and 110 rear. Spark seems just a little weak but should be enough to fire.

So you gap the points a lot more to tuning one then that. Is the gap equal or close on both cam lobs? What sort of shape is the advance unite in? Did you static time it? Is the push rods adjusted properly. You say you rebuilt it what all did you do?
