Nose cone ignitions usually fail due to the high heat in that area.

as far as the cylinders firing or not it feels like maybe ones not but i cant tell which one. when i check the plugs there both a nice tan color. maybe i need to run it for a mile or so and and let it do its thing for about 45 seconds then kill the ignition and check the plugs on the side of the road befor they have time to self clean....

Make a dramatic move (2 sizes) with the main jet in either direction, to witness changes, good or bad, and the trend should be able to point you in the right direction, if carb related.
