i have a 91 sportser 883. the problem i am having is the bike cuts out at around 3200 rpm under w.o.t. the higher the gear, the worse the problem. for example 1st gear at 3200 wot coughs minutely then revs all the way to 6000 no problem. 5th gear falls flat on its face at 3200. if i switch gears so it starts off at 4000 rpm there is no problem. im baffled at this point.
things ive done. removed and cleaned carb very thoroughly, new jets, new upper diaphragm, new accelerator pump diaphragm, cleaned pet ****, replaced fuel line. i made adjustments to the air fuel. i moved the needle up and down every clip. nothing makes any difference. im at a total loss here. please help.
what other engine mods? What size jets are you using?

had a dynojet thunderslide kit installed but put a stock slide back in with new diaphragm. kept the spring and needle from the kit tho. needle set on the 5th notch down.
Check your plugs, I had one were the ceramic broke loose around the electrode. It would slide down and block the spark path making it miss intermittently.
