Default weird head breather problems ....

Hey everyone . New here and have been searching and no luck. I just got a 1986 flhtc electra glide with the 80ci evo in it. Bike has big bore kit, andrew cam, killer cv carb, exhaust and arlen ness supper sucker intake. When I first got it it was running a bit rough so I was tinkering and found when I remove the banjo bolts frome the head breather bike runs fine I put them back in and starts to run rough again???? I'm new to harley davidsons so any help or recomendations would be great thanks

They vent into you air filter don't they? Just how much blow by do you have? Are we just talking idle here?

Doesn't seem like there is any air coming out if there is it is not much banjo bolts are new and the ports in air cleaner are clear. Also I haven't tried to ride it with with the head vent hooked up it won't stay running for a few seconds at idle. But when I remove them it runs fine and can ride it

the breather system is a very simple set up,if you cant blow thru them (or air isn't coming out when running)just find out why and fix it,it really shouldn't make a big deal as far as the motor running anyway (would get some leaks and hi rpm probs, but shouldn't affect idle)

Make sure the passageways in the breather bolts are lined up right and the o rings are in the right spot. If it vents internally there should be slight amount of oil entering the carb/tbody.

Hey everyone update on my issue ... had nothing to do with the breather system ....when I would install the banjo bolts it would lift up the carb just enough toc ause a hairline crack in the rubber boot at the head to open up causing it to run rough... got new boots and installed and bike runs great now.
