Default Head temp vs Exhaust

Just checked the head temps of both cylinders (at the plugs) on my 08 Heritage Softail. It has SE stage I pipes, A/C, and download. I also have the Xied wires installed. The temps were as follows:

Front 269

Rear 234

This was after a 4 to 5 mile bolt (70 to 80) down a highway and 2 to 3 mile cruise (30 to 40) back to the driveway.

I was not alarmed at the temps but am concerned with the front being hotter than the rear. Would a leak at the exhaust port cause that?

Any and all thoughts would be appreciated.

I would be interested in comments also. My front cyl runs about 15 to 20 degrees hotter thn the rear. I have no exhaust leaks , plugs look the same as does exhaust outlet color. Plus it runs great

I don't really see anything that I would worry about here. Although the rear cylinder usually runs hotter than the front because it doesn't get as much airflow over it, I have seen them run a little cooler now and again (depending on conditions)

Those temps are close enough that I wouldn't freak out or anything.
Watch the plugs to see if the fuel mixture is good front and rear and if it is and the temps are no more irregular than they are right now.....Fuggedaboutit!

Can't comment on Fuel injected bikes but I know it's common for carb'd bikes to run leaner in the front cylinder and thus why they recommend tuning off the front cylinder. but I'm not sure if thats the case with FI? food for thought.

My breakout 103 with d and d pipe pv-2 tuner and stage 1 a/c shows and etemp of around 250 down the highway at speed with similar ambient temps. Im unsure if its reading off the front or back cyclinder.

Well....., I may have answered my question... The problem could be me. I took another spin and measured again. This time, the rear was a bit warmer than the front. Although, I took several measurements the first time and, they all read front hotter than the rear, it is possible I did not have my measuring device on similar spots for both cylinders. I thought I was careful but.... who knows? Anyway, I will keep an eye on it. I do believe an exhaust leak at the port will raise the temp a tad. Like I said, I will keep an eye on it.
