Cool Exhaust gasket to replace ?

Hello guys,

As I am thinking of wrapping the front exhaust (up to my slip-ons). Many suggested to unmount the exhaust to do so as it will be more easier to wrap it tightly.

I don't mind as it look not too bad to do. However, I am not a mechanic guy. I do my things slowly and watch a lot youtube videos. Works good until now for me.

If I unmount the exhaust, do I have to replace the gasket before re-mounting it ? What should I pay attention to ?

Thanks !

What kind of bike? What kind of exhaust? You may get by without replacing the gaskets if you can carefully remove the header pipe but if it were me since they're not expensive I'd go with a new set.

I have removed/remounted, even swapped exhaust pipes numerous times without having to replace the gaskets. YRMV.

I would put in new gaskets. They don't cost much.
I had read that sometimes it is a hassle to push the new gaskets into place, so I was ready for that when I replaced my exhaust.
The gaskets did end up giving me some trouble, if I hadn't read about them I would of thought they were too big to fit. I don't have a lot of patience so after trying to push them in for several minutes I went inside and took a break. When I came back out they went in fairly quickly.

Is there a preference between the stock replacement cone gasket and the flat SE gaskets? Either seems fairly inexpensive.
