I’m actually wanting to find a WL bobber (on the cheap) that I can haul out to Wildwood and race on the beach during TROG.
On the cheap is in the past. Anything worth buying is $10k and up. TROG made them popular again, double edged sword. You can't even buy a decent frame for less than $2k anymore.
That said, TROG is a great F-in time and I would encourage you to get involved, it just isn't cheap. Good luck
“On the cheap” nowadays to me, is 10K. I have however found a Servicar that is in pretty horrible shape in AZ. The guy is asking 4K but I think it’s worth maybe 2K. I figure I could get a frame (or cut up the Servicar frame) and the rest of the **** I need at swap meets and such and build a capable sand kicker using the motor, tranny and front fork off the Servicar. The engine has a lot of rust but that’ll just give it character.
Inspirational photo for the afternoon, TROG 2019. Pre-COVID but after a couple of accidents had the Staties all over the sand making us wear full face helmets. 2019 was probably the best track ever at Wildwood. Though it pissed rain all day in Pismo, the track was super tight. Water is a good thing when racing on sand, just not too much water.
It was the visual of a machine we just finished for a customer - that I was referring to —- but i should have explained it to the letter of the law i guess
not selling it I don’t own it to sell but i have posted in the correct section with no luck on this site a few times so i stopped doing that
