Default 1035 VLD 74ci No Spark

Unable to start my ‘35 just purchased. It ran with no problem this past Sunday 5/9/21. Because I had a small gas leak at the petcock so I ran the gas in carb dry just to check for other leaks. That is all I did and now can not start bike. I have checked coil with multimeter and got 2.6 so assume that is ok. 6v battery is good at 6.5v. Wires at generator reading 6.5v with key on. Ignition switch tested good. Headlight works as does brake light. Don’t know much about points but assume they’re ok as it was just running fine. Checked spark plug wire in coil and seemed fine. What am I missing? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

They are not complicated - 1000 sand paper even 600 would work - offend the different air can cause a corrode on the points contact areas

for now i would rotate the engine over with the lunch box off ( caution ) in the box is a clip / tab kind of thing IF you have one the tab is not available anyplace be very care full not to brake it

the points are under the alloy box - the distributor is driven side ways - for now only clean the two contacts and rotate the engine with no plugs easier to do -

Ed’s e2000 make an magnetic trigger ( actually a electronic ignition that replaces the points completely ) for that series machine we have installed them so if you have issues i can help - every good unit and it stops this 25 miles from home have used his stuff for many years

speel check sucks on the site

+1 on Ed's E2000 ignition module, takes a lot of the BS out of these old bikes. Just talk to Ed and make sure your coil is compatible, after that plug and play. Good luck.
