Tank buffer (rubber grommets) for ‘35 VLD

Anyone know if you can substitute 3505-26 for 3505-09 can’t find the later anywhere nor a pic. Seems the tanks on a RL appear to be same as a VL so guessing the 45” Twin buffer may work but checking with my new friends. Also. How does it fit on to the frame?. Do I cut this or should it come cut. Dumb questions right? Thank you.

I think the 45 one is a smaller tube frame - but everything you do is a thing to get right - and everything you find is what someone else has not attempted OR worse tried and failed miserably and your left with a real issue

remember this the moron you got it from was a family friend —- AND —-with NO skills NO common sense and NO scruples -

thinking of it this way it makes fixing it a better deal you already know a special kind of stupid was working on it before you bought the machine
