Im going to apply for a lost title for my 42WLA that was built in April of 1943, Should I title it as a 1943, or a 1942 as its Model designation? Thanks
All states (to m knowledge) will follow the year listed on the VIN# found on the left side of the motor, so 1942 would be correct. Using 1943 being that is what the casting number says will just confuse everyone. Stick with the VIN #, will also make it easier for future resale, good luck.
I did it the other way.
Mine is registered with the 42WLA serial number from the block, but it is described as a 1945 Solo.
If I ever sell it, I will show the buyer the chart that links belly numbers to the year of manufacture.
I also had an ulterior motive - see my license plate below.
