Probably showing my ignorance here but I do that often.
I'm looking at a listing for a 42 WLA and the seller says it is a "2 bolt frame".
What exactly is that referring to?
Thanks.
How many bolts under the transmission to the frame. I believe 1940 and down are two bolt, everything newer is three bolt. Might be 1939, but pretty sure 1940.
So if he has a WLA, he should have a three bolt, something fishy for sure.
Unless he is talking about the clutch cable mount to the frame down tube. They are all 2 bolts until 1947 or 1948 when they get a third bolt thru 1973.
But never heard that term for the clutch, always discussing the transmission.
Thanks for that info.
It's far from original.
I'm thinking the reference to it being a 42 WLA is probably based on the engine number although I don't know yet what the engine number is.
I just wanted to know what the "2 bolt" referred to.
Basically all I know right now is what I see in these two pics.
Hard to say from that picture, but it could be the early 2 bolt style. Bike is a bit of a mess, but if you could get it for less than the asking price!?!??!?!?!?
