Now that I have the time, I've dusted off the old Flaty to get her going again - but first a few jobs need doing.
Tanks off, exhaust off, foot controls etc etc and the list of things to do gets bigger and bigger
I've never been happy with the way the front of battery box mounts to the frame. I've had it bolted to the right side of the tab, but always wondered if this was right
So. Does it mount to the right, left or the tab goes on the middle of the battery box strap??? OR has a tab been welded on the frame to suit the custom carrier it used to have when it was a chopper!!!
Appreciate the collective help this site always offers
Turbo - yes, as does mine.
I do like your rubber protection around the battery box post cutout - must do that.
Are you running a repo battery or have you retro fitted a more modern battery??
My bike came to me with an original battery box but that top rear mount to the frame was broken off. I think about getting it fixed every time it is out but it makes removing the box much easier. Going on 10 years and thousands of miles and I have never missed the additional mount. One day I will fix it.
