*UPDATE*
I double checked the timing on the mag and everything checked out. I decided to swap out plugs and that didnt seem to make a difference, I tried another set of plug wires with no luck. The bike was running very rich and puffing black smoke, I kept swapping plugs and adjusting the low speed needle trying to lean it out. I noticed that I had a lot of gas coming out of the carb. Just for the hell of it I pulled the high speed needle out and found that it was slightly damaged causing it not to seat properly. I put a new needle in and the bike runs perfectly. I appeciate all the input. Now its time to tweak a few things and get it on the road.

I know that this is an old post but I would like to know what damage you found on your needle.
