Default Servicar speed

I've owned two servicars in the past. They're really fun but dirt slow. I know I'll never get one up to todays freeway speeds but looking for some tips if I put another one up.

Anyone with a flathead have trouble with the unleaded gas? The last one I rode was 20 yrs ago. They don't breath well so was thinking about a Mikuni. Any tips to get a servicar to get up to 50 mph without rolling down hill, please share.

Thanks!

There is a servi-car owners group over at Yahoo groups @ http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/servicarriders/

Very helpful bunch with strong knowledge base.

Its not uncommon for a few of the guys over there to take road trips on their servi's (strokers) at highway speeds.

Just for entertainment - Here are some videos's on YouTube of one of them on a 4th of July ride to MT. Baldy, Ca., 3-up on a servi-car.

Default ServicarRiders. . . .

BUMP. . . .

sorry.. . . .

i just joined here and i found this thread because i was wondering if there has ever been a top speed record recorded for a Servicar.
i was really surprised to find mention of the 4 videos listed.
those r my videos. it was me and my family of three out on the roads.
those were fun rides.
i had no idea these videos were being shared anywhere but in our ServicarRiders group. and so long ago. it was fun to bump into.
i still have my Servi and it now has a stroker engine. still fine tuning the Mikuni Carb. lately i have been redoing the jetting and i am getting to speeds above 70 with ease.
hoping to get some video real soon to offer as proof.

since i can't seem to uncover anybody making efforts to document any top speeds, the idea has occurred to me to see what i can do with the SCTA out at El Mirage dry lake.
not sure if a Servi can meet their safety requirements but i have seen racers on bikes that look like little more than mopeds on the track.
so how hard can it be?

i hope anybody that saw my old videos enjoyed them. we had good times making them.

Default Bump

hello to all!
just bumped into this thread last week.
all the videos mentioned above r mine. i was taking th family three up everywhere i could.
the local law enforcement didn't like it but were not quite sure if it was illegal or not. i got several warnings but no citations.
and now my boy is grown and has piloted the trike himself.
i wore that engine out and redid the top end again, , , ,

here is a video from this morning.
when people tell u Servi's are slow, keep in mind. . .they don't have to be.

thx for watchin.

D~~~!
