The other day I saw a flathead mentioned on the net with a "WLD" designation. I'm familier with WL, WLA, WLC and WR... Was the "D" a type O or am I about to put a new wrinkle in my brain? Any input would be appreciated.
I agree it's sometimes confusing. I looked through my materials and that's what I found:
1937 - WLD special sport 45 ci flathead three speed
1938 38 WLD Sport 45 ci flathead high compr, 4 speed
1939 WLD /the same/
1940 WLD aluminium heads 4 speed
1941
1942 - same specifications.
Not mentioned after this year.
Hope it will help.
Mustasz, Just another quick thanks. Had a ball doin' research on WLDs today. Plugging the years into a google wld search brought up a barn load of info.
