Was thinking of buying this servicer as a investment. It is supposed to be all original , non restored, # matching, good running condition.
Does anybody know what they are worth and is this thing o.e.m. ????

I have a bitsa 1956 servi I built from mismatched parts. In general, a servi car sales for less and is less marketable than a similar model 45 solo. It is hard for me to believe the paint is original and I would post photo of vin number on left crankcase for someone knowledgeable to view. Post photos at caimag.com or antiquemotorcyle.org/bboard and you will get plenty of answers. Look at listings and sales of servis on ebay. I would only buy antique motorcycle if interested in old stuff, not as an investment. Good luck with it.

i agree the paint is not original - and with the tow hook on the front the rear fenders would be at bare metal, road debris

my antique Motorcycle partner just bought an original Police 1955 that is poor but that is what the guys use at the AMCA events old beat up servi cars as pit bikes

we just found a 1967 FLH and a 1946 Indian chief that was in a wood shed forever ( paper work is from the 80s ) it took an hour to power wash them off as an inverstment they are much better if your handy and can do some of it yourself - not sure what one i am keeping yet - jz

The machine appears to have a kickstarter and that would be unusual for a 1964 or later model Servi-Car. The 1964 model S-C was the first Servi to have an electric starter but they usually don’t have a kickstarter as well because originally the transmission case wasn’t machined to accommodate kickstarter tripper bolts. Prior to 1964 models the S-C had a kickstarter but no electric start.

Stamped on a raised boss on the left crankcase near the base of the cylinders you should see a serial number and it may be something like the following example: 64 GE 2345. The first two numbers indicate model year of the engine. GE for 1964–69 indicates an electric start model. The other numbers represent sequential production and they should comply with the 1960–69 even-odd code, assuming of course the engine is somewhere from the 1960s. If you post a clear photo of the serial number we can give you opinions on whether or not it appears factory-stamped and if you’re concerned about it being shown on the net then cover some of the sequence characters—for example, you could reveal the first five characters (64 GE 2) and cover the remaining three numbers.

Also look on the underside of each crankcase half near the outer edges and somewhat toward the front. Stamped there on each case you should see belly numbers and they may be in a format similar to the following example: 364-1234. Please let us know what you find.

The tank nameplates appear to be the style first used for 1963 models.

Well johnjzjz, Please let me know if you are selling either bike as I am handy with bikes ! This guy wants 15k for this servi-car . A lot ! He also has a ton of bikes ( collector ) and this is the only one for sale .
Thanks for all the info , I will get the #s off the bike and post them. He says it has the original firestone tires on it yet as well. I thought the servi-cars were worth good money but it sounds like I would be better off with a bike instead.
I agree the paint is way too good .
