Irony...
I find ironic and humorous that we are not allowed to speak the "I" word in here, even in comparison to new HD models without it being whisked away to some basement thread....
And yet, here in the touring forum, I found this at the top of the page.
I fully expect this thread to disappear soon, and maybe get my patties slapped...
But my sense of humor is a bit off, and thought someone else may get the same chuckle I did from it.

eh---another brand is so off topic why bother.
Indian went down in 1953...the brand name has been sold, resold, litigated again and again etc etc.
there is no connection to anything resembling the original company or products.
It can be easier to revive a brand name than to come up with an original idea
Many who have any connection to original Indian have no regard for the polaris, north carolina, CMC or the Foreign minibikes which have had indian decals on them

There is a vast difference compared to HD which has had some continuity in ownership, management, engineering, manufacture, sales and continual production since the 1904 model production models
the current owners of the brand name could have elected to call it a polaris or victory and maybe gotten more interest...the "indian" name just means fenders stapled onto a something else.
oops- off topic too.

Its funny how that happens. You can't talk about them but the site can make money advertising them. Which is good.. I guess.
The advertisements are based off of your cookies from web searches etc.
So if you recently looked up something about toaster ovens... yeah you'll see toaster ovens.
Mine is displaying some hot chick selling something...

I reckon I'm guilty of looking at motorcycles and motorcycle related products.
Those ads really have nothing to do with HD Forums in general.
This forum is owned by a company (Internet Brands, Inc.) that operates many automotive sites.
They sell ad space to whoever wants to purchase it.
This forum is "free" for us users because of those that pay for advertising space.
We have general forum rules we must follow, but the people actually running the forum and enforcing those rules are not in control of the ad space.
