Forum not working with the IE browser

Moving on a few months, my faithful ole 'puter passed away a few days ago, so I am getting used to a brand-spanking new one. Bought it locally with Google Chrome loaded, which the shop recommends (they build and repair for local businesses and come with a good reputation - rather like a Harley indy!).
I can't see pics posted in threads, but can on another pc using Firefox, which is weird. Is this another Google 'problem', or is there a magic switch I can change? I'm hoping Eve can work her magic.....
