Why are Google map links being "censored"

Of course. I think the workaround of quoting the link seems to work, but it would be nice to get the forum to stop censoring google maps altogether. I'm guessing it has something to do with the potential problem of people posting google searches for inappropriate material -- but that's just a guess.
After I did some research I will ask tech staff to have a look as well. I do not think it's ment to be like it is right now.

Apparently links to Google Maps other than from "My Maps" in Google do not work as expected.
Here's what you could do:
Draw your route on the map in Google Maps
Make a screenprint
Open Image option
Paste copied map into the upload bar
Map will be shown as an image
Save the Google Map in My Maps
Copy the url and paste it into your post or connect the url to a marked word
Submit reply.
