Exclamation How to get in touch with moderators

Hi, NOT a new member. I am trying to find out how to get in touch with a MOD.
There are members here that are rude and scamming. There are threads where MEMBERS call out scammers in an attempt to help prevent OTHER members from getting scammed.

WHY DOES THIS FORUM NOT HAVE MODS THAT CAN FIX THE PROBLEM.
Or is this a 1st amendment issue? Or does "Caveat Emptor" apply?

IF THERE ARE MEMBERS WHO HAVE BEEN SCAMMED, and the proof can be provided, the MOD and the SITE has the ability to block that member.

There are other members that have been "KICKED" off, banned temporarily.

Hoping for a reply...

There are no moderators.

Try this.

@Leimy

See the triangle to the right of your post. If you have an issue with a user, hit that and report your issue

If by chance it's a PM, it's the flag to the right.

If you see someone from Austria and there user profile says USA, copy there post. Go to advance Search, paste it and search. More than likely you will see a duplicate thread they have copied.

Paste that in there thread. Type copied this user's thread. Reported. That is important so others don't report it.

Then go to there first post, hit the triangle and report it as a Spam Austria.

Do your homework carefully however. Those reports go straight to the community team or Administration. It will get taken care of. There are no moderators.

Here is the community teams. Probably outdated. There usually at bottom of the root menu for the different area.

@Leimy I have moved this to the forum issues area . I have also flagged our "Head Moderator" @Robb M. who may want to chime in.

The majority of sections within the forum have moderators. A summary can be found here https://www.hdforums.com/forum/showgroups.php If the section has a moderator then they are listed at the bottom of the page ie

If you believe someone is being rude, scamming, spamming etc then report the post (with the appropriate comment). This is achieved by clicking on the button circled in yellow below. This will then go to the Moderator section of the forum where we (the moderators) will review it and take any appropriate action.

Private messages which scammer often use can also be reported

The moderators (who are volunteers trying to help by the way) are regularly monitoring for spam / scammers / out of line comments / etc. if you look in the Welcome section you can see that spammers / scanners are always being removed (when a thread is deleted for spamming / scanning more often that not the creator is also banned). Unforunately we cannot read every post in every section and we rely on other members reporting items that may need attention. Hope this answers your questions.

Just a little FYI for you -
As has been pointed out community team members are volunteer. We don't live on this forum to answer every complaint immediately, even if you do feel the need to post in bold type.
Also, most team members DO NOT have the ability to block or ban members. We can remove individual posts or entire threads but that's about where it ends. If the offense warrants it we can try to kick it upstairs to someone with those abilities.
Please make sure your information is correct (which is was not) before posting.

Thank you Jackie. You bring a lot of things to our attention, allowing us to move on it faster than maybe stumbling upon it ourselves or not at all.

I know that. I have seen your post. I was just hoping that there was a moderator. Apparently not.

Thank you,
The issue , is that the members keep posting threads about scammer members. The thread WARNS other members about potential scammers...but yet it seems that those members are not removed. Clicking on the report doesn't work if a PM i sent.

Thank you,
I'm not sure why you are saying " Please make sure your information is correct (which is was not) before posting.[/QUOTE]"
Not sure what is not correct?

Besides, There are several threads where members try and worn other members to be aware of scammers. If seems that if enough people HAVE been or ALMOST taken by a particular person, that should be reson enough to kick it upstairs?

I'm not looking to report anyone. Just wanted to bring this to light of this issue.
