Question "Cloudflare" security check..?

When was this horrible "Cloudflare" security check introduced here in the forum?

Unfortunately, I don't know what one expects to achieve with this against the annoying internet bots.
This annoying security garbage has already caused tens of thousands of internet forums to become deserted.

I would greatly appreciate it, if a moderator or admin of this forum could write a few sentences about it, thank you very much.

Mike
PS This "security check" is simply annoying; after a few minutes of inactivity, I have to constantly reconfirm this rubbish.
I don't understand, please, if I'm logged into the forum with my username and password...?

It surprises me, that nobody is complaining about these constant security checks here in the forum?

Surely it can't be that one constantly has to confirm one's own existence with a click on a completely opaque website; do you all just accept that? I certainly won't!

Mike
PS This won't be it for me, what a shame about all the contacts.
The administration's silence speaks volumes.

Welcome.

I don't see it today on my end.
A couple of months ago it was a MAJOR time consuming PITA.
It has become almost invisible now.

As for Admins, "there can be only one".
There are several nearly powerless 'minions' keeping up with the housekeeping.

There is a huge community teams doing an outstanding job. Management has turned the Forum into a well run area that members can use free if desired

Probably, the loss of individuals is due more to the declining interest in Harleys.

I haven't seen any Software type issues with the forum here lately. There is some improper words that AI will pause you and have your post flagged for community team review.

@Mike1956G Mike1956G I called your post to the boss for a comment. Be helpful if you screen print what you are seeing.. Sure he's a busy man. Issue could be your system or hardware. @Robb M.

@Mike1956G if you’re not based in an english speaking Country this is the new normal. bot traffic is affecting servers and revenue so get used to it.

you can send me your IP and maybe i can have it whitelisted. please also let us know what Country you’re browsing from. if you’re using a VPN while based in the USA, then turn it off.

edit: i see you’re in Germany. send me your IP.

Hi Robb,

I've used very old computers up until now, but today I was able to buy a brand new HP notebook with the Windows 11 operating system. It's a whole new world opening up, but I'm sure you already know that...
Compared to my old computers running Windows 7 and Windows 8, these are "time jumps", not comparable at all.
Switching to a new operating system was an expensive undertaking, but it was worth it in the end.

Thanks for your answers, as they say: "The problem is usually in front of the display, not behind it!"

Mike
Btw. Germany, no VPN, using my smartphone as a internet hotspot.

Microsoft "Edge" even offers me here, to translate the whole website to german language...
What comes out of it is simply horrible, a freak show...

What comes out of it is simply horrible.
Brave new world, one no longer writes or talks to each other, artificial intelligence takes over.

Small addendum,

after switching to Windows 11, I no longer have to confirm this "Cloudflare" security prompt.
That's at least a small relief.

Thanks also for the new password, that worked very well!
Sorry for the silly questions, back to business as usual...

Robb M. Of course, I will not disclose my IP address to anyone I do not know; I ask for your understanding in this matter.

Mike

I can only warn against using an advertising-based internet browser.

Whether it's Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, or whatever, the damn advertising slows you down.
I've been using Windows 11 for about a week now, and I've tried out several browsers.

It's an orgy of spam and advertising like I've never experienced before.
I used to enjoy using the ad-free Opera browser, which was unfortunately taken over by China.

There are alternative browsers, but I'm finding it hard to decide. Am I being paranoid, or do you all feel the same way?

Mike
