"Cloudflare" security check..?
Thanks for the suggestion, but the search engine with the duck doesn't work here at all, nor does "Bing".
These only produce more advertising and spam under Windows 11, a horrible, "wonderful" new internet world...
Mike
Not sure if Win11 will mess it up but on Win10, I use it almost exclusively with no regerts.
Unfortunately, Windows 11 is pre-installed on my new notebook computer; you just can't get rid of this crap, this orgy of advertising, spam, and bullshit is deeply integrated into the operating system.
You pay a lot of money for a new computer that's practically unusable; you're just bombarded with advertising and dubious offers...
The only real way to escape all of this is a simple "Linux" operating system: open source, ad-free, independent...
It is not "Windows"
Slightly different, but worth a try, and then completely free of advertising and unnecessary spam.

I went from working on the bleeding edge of IT to dropping off the electric plantation and working to minimize my digital footprint. Hell... I still use a flip-phone. Someday... who knows? I may make it to being a complete luddite. Brave's a decent choice but as you know, it can't block what doesn't come through it. Comes with it's own title bar/search engine too... or choose another you dig in the setting.
Anywho... good luck with the new setup and while I don't interact enough to be noticeable around here, Welcome aboard. Some decent and knowledgeable folks around... and some pinheads too.

Thanks for your contribution, I use the Linux derivative XUbuntu in an old version on a "historic" LENOVO notebook.
This works perfectly, without a single update, even online, but unfortunately it is a bit out of date...
But that is a completely different topic and should not be the topic here, thank you.
A few days ago I installed the "Brave" browser, which is small, fast, uncomplicated, and completely ad-free, also under Windows 11.
Link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brave_(web_browser)
The "Brave" browser reminds me a lot of the early "Opera" versions, which I enjoyed using for many years.
So far I'm very happy with "Brave", I'll keep reporting...
After setting up my new computer with a Microsoft email address, I am flooded with unwanted advertising emails from Germany, and only from Germany!
In the last 10 days I have had to delete at least 500+ spam emails, it's hard to get rid of this garbage.
Behind this, of course, is the trading of email addresses, which is legally a very questionable matter.
But I knew it beforehand, and that's all I expected from Windows 11!

PS That crappy “Cloud Flare Security Check” is still reflected in every post I send!
I write for a few minutes and then submit the post, but nothing appears.
I keep having to click back several times, search for the post, and resubmit it, good gods, what crappy security software.
The only option is probably to write the posts offline, paste them here, and then send them, like in the early days of computers...

As a user, you don't have any more time than that to write something, upload something, or whatever else...
This wretched security software is nothing more than a timer—checking whether you are still active, already dead, or a bot. That is all it is.
That is how you earn billions—with a simple stopwatch running in the background.
You should inform users during registration that this nonsense is running in the background.
Stepping away for a quick pee while you're posting becomes a problem.
Brave New Internet World—make something of it!

PS Why didn't I come up with something like that? I could be lying in the Caribbean with my fat ***, sipping cocktails, and counting my billions—every seven minutes—online...

My HP notebook, which is 3 weeks new and runs Windows 11, no longer accepts the PIN.
The notebook was sent to HP/Germany to be reset to factory settings.
The internal SSD hard drive is encrypted with the "BitLocker" software running in the background; access to the SSD is not possible without a PIN.
This is the brave new world of Windows 11; everything is under Microsoft's control.
One could laugh about it, and I had a feeling something like this might happen.
Luckily, I still have an old Samsung netbook with a small 10" display; it's old but reliable, and at least the tiny thing works, even if very, very slowly...
I will continue to report...

The Best of Harley-Davidson for Lifelong Riders
most likely a self-inflicted nightmare, having messed around too much with the new operating system out of curiosity.
macOS, that's definitely out of the question for me, for many reasons...
