I’ve been here 16 years.

I’m pretty sure I’ve figured out
how this place works.
Your commitment is praiseworthy, thank you for that!
I think, I will return to a laptop with a Linux operating system after all; the decision to get a
new computer with Microsoft Windows 11 has proven to be more than unsatisfactory.
I think that is exactly the best decision.
I am truly fed up with this constant "scrutiny" by Microsoft, none of it is acceptable anymore.

by now, I have gotten somewhat used to Windows 11.
Everything runs very fast; I have disabled "device encryption", G: "Geräteverschlüsselung".
This is a kind of budget version of "BitLocker" that protects SSDs in Windows 11 Home/Pro against unauthorized access.
No other news, thank you again!
Mike
PS The problem is that the average computer buyer has no idea whatsoever about this software running in the background.
Microsoft doesn't tell you this, your computer is essentially in "distant" hands, and that's unacceptable.
"Device encryption is a Windows feature that automatically enables BitLocker encryption for the system and hard drives to protect data from unauthorized access in the event of loss or theft. It is available in all Windows editions, including Windows 11 Home, and uses the XTS-AES 128-bit encryption method by default."
